Yellow Pages Searches Growing

Yellow Pages usage grew to 17.2 billion searches in 2007, up from 16.7 billion in 2006, according to the Yellow Pages Association.

Print usage remained stable with 13.4 billion lookups, the same as in 2006, according to the 2007 Knowledge Networks/SRI "Industry Usage Study."

The companies said that about 87% of the US population used the print yellow pages in 2007. comScore said that Internet yellow pages searches increased 15% in 2007 to 3.8 billion, from 3.3 billion in 2006.

The average number of monthly searchers grew 16% in 2007 to 73 million, from 63.1 million in 2006. The YPA said that the yellow pages are a $31 billion industry worldwide. [eMarketer]
